In this solo episode, Lisa gets real about the changes going on in her life right now. She shares about her upcoming moves, a new long-distance relationship, and the feelings that come up as it gets a little warmer here in the midwest. Last (but definitely not least) she shares her 5 favorite ways to deal with change, which are listed below.
Plan ahead (to an extent). Try to do some prep work so you feel a little bit more organized as things around you change but remember, there are only so many things you can control.
Take time to reflect on the process as a whole. Write in a journal, talk with a friend or maybe even schedule a therapy appointment to help with this.
Strive to maintain some type of normalcy. Structure and routine are comforting, so the more you can maintain your tried-and-true routine in the midst of a change, the less anxious you’ll tend to be.
Create some comfort. Add stress-relieving and enjoyable activities to your day/week! It doesn’t matter what you do as long as it’s comforting to you.
Practice gratitude. Can you find 2-3 things each day that bring you joy? Try writing them down or sharing them with a friend – this positive shift can almost feel like hitting a reset button for your mind.
